Offering open-ended natural materials across the provision will extend learning opportunities and support new language during play. This Set of Large Wooden Slices will be used in lots of imaginative ways within the classroom.
They can be explored in transient art as children create patterns and experiment with unique textures and forms. Alternatively, the set is great for building small world forest themed scenes – see your young learners engage in creative story telling and imaginative play as they build small world habitats for their story figures.
These slices are also ideal to use in maths-based activities, they can be drawn onto with numbers or perhaps shapes to allow children to develop skills in counting and ordering as they recognise simple shapes, supporting critical thinking from a young age.
